Understanding Anxiety in Infants and Young Children

Description

Many of us recognize the significance of anxiety in adults and how it affects people’s well-being and functioning. There are a growing number of children exhibiting anxiety at younger and younger ages. Anxiety now affects one in eight children limiting their abilities to accept transitions, interact with others, and enjoy life. Participants of this workgroup will learn about the growing trend of anxiety symptoms in infants and young children, to identify typical anxiety in development and why it is important for a child’s social emotional development, as well as strategies to ease the child’s and family’s anxiety. This workgroup will include group activities involving questions and scenarios. Opportunity to discuss cases and questions will also be available.
