Looking at Children with New Eyes: The Influence of Sensory Processing on Child Development and Behavior

Description

All behavior has meaning! Understanding sensory processing provides an alternative lens through which to observe behavior, develop new ways of interpreting the behaviors of young children as well as to expand your repertoire of caregiving, intervention and teaching strategies. In this presentation, participants will learn about the “lesser known” sensory systems of vestibular and proprioception, the interrelated components of sensory processing and the concepts of a neurological threshold and behavioral response continuum. Practical intervention strategies will be introduced. Both of Ms. Rosinia’s presentations can be taken separately. However, it is highly recommended that participants consider taking these two sessions together.
