What is going on with my child? An Introductionto Sensory Integration

This is an informational session for parents or professionals new to the area of Sensory integration. Session will open with a lecture covering definitions of Sensory Integration and Sensory Processing, our seven senses (5 plus vestibular and proprioceptive), and red flags for sensory integration disorder. This will be followed by a break down into small groups intended for parents to get specific questions answered by one of our experienced Occupational Therapists. The period will wrap up by bringing all the groups back together to tackle any of the more challenging questions presented in small groups. Resources for further information will be provided. Sample items commonly used in sensory diets will be displayed for exploration and discussion.
