This learning group supports the efforts of doula supervisors and program coordinators to fully integrate doula services into family support programs.
Just as doulas receive ongoing education and support, the directors and supervisors of programs with the doula service component gather together to share information and experiences with peers, with researchers and staff from the Illinois Birth to Three Institute. This learning group addresses routine doula service-related tasks, explores lessons learned and successes, and offers support for each person’s role through promotion of the reflective process.
