Doula Basic Training: Labor and Birth

Description

This training prepares community based doulas to support young parents throughout pregnancy, birth, and the first weeks of their baby’s life.

Doula Basic Training focuses on building the knowledge and skills necessary to support parents in the perinatal period. The three classroom events are Doula Prenatal Work, Labor and Birth, and Doula Postpartum Work. They are integrated with Doula Inservice events, New Doula Webinars, the DONA approved Birth Doula Training, and clinical observations. The training curriculum includes lessons on:
-Doula service design within in the context of comprehensive family support programs
-Doula role and responsibilities
-Pregnancy
-Childbirth education
