Description |
Have you ever wondered what goes on between your visits with a child and family? When you say goodbye, see you next time, and close the door, what do you think happens? If families think that all of the knowledge and materials...all of the magic leaves when we do then we are all missing out on a wealth of opportunities! This workshop will help participants support the playful partnership between parent and child as they go about the day to day business of being a family. Topics will include: showing families how to use play and toys as a means to interact, communicate, and encourage overall development; strategies for using daily routines as a platform for increasing participation and independence and decreasing frustration; lots of creative ideas for making or adapting inexpensive materials to use in play.
