Ages and Stages Questionnaire: Social Emotional Training Expanded

Description

The main objective is to introduce and incorporate the Social-Emotional Component of EI into the work our staff and providers do with families. The importance of relationship based work will be explained and encouraged. The levels of support required for a particular child and family will be assessed using the ASQ-SE as an initial tool. Role plays of a 6mos. and 36 mos. old child will be used to enhance understanding of feelings and thoughts the questionnaire raises for both the parent and Service Coordinator. The available supports for staff and providers will also be introduced. Emphasis is placed on how the ASQ-SE helps the team consider the parents' concerns and priorities in developing the IFSP.
