Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect

This one hour presentation focused on recognizing the signs of child abuse and neglect. Dr. Keen reviewed the behavioral indicators that a child may be bing abused and the physical indicators that a child mey be being abused. She reviewed physical, sexual, and emotional abuse as well as emotional abuse. She discussed how to report suspected abuse and the Service Coordinator's role as a mandated reporter. SHe also discussed the DCFS referral process and what happens after a referal is made.
